"Amazon recommended it and I never checked it any further as I figured Amazon knew what model I had purchased. Beware of Amazon recommendations and check models before you buy."I have copied the above from someone elses review so I know I am not the only one. What I received was not designed for the nuvi 760 that I had purchased. It sits on the counter waiting for me to get it together to ship it back. The correct model, I believe, fails to say what models it works with. Probably an oversite.
I bought this carrying case for my nuvi 270. Really useful to keep your GPS protected.
The drawback is that the entire Garmin unit does not fit into the case. The case for the Garmin Nuvi is very well made. It is leather. The case covers about 85-90% of the unit. Otherwise it is great.
The case is open at one end, and the inside is felt lined. it's just an awkward design. It needs at least a strap or cover.
I can't count how many times I've parked my car, put my Nuvi into the case, got out and had my Nuvi go slamming into the pavement. I've had my Nuvi 680 for a couple years. So, if you're not careful (and you won't be sometimes), and don't put your hand over the open end, your GPS unit will go flying out.
something. and I go #@.&%. Seriously, it's a really poor design.
and this still happens. just the slightest outward force from turning or facing down and out slides the GPS.
The plastic packaging measures about 6" x 9" x 1/2". An inexpensive, simple, small case just fits the Garmin Nuvi and certainly offers some protection from bumps and scratches. Amazon says it it too large to ship to my Post Office Box, yet boxes of books are shipped there regularly. So would the toe of a sock or a cardboard box, at a much lower price. Most frustrating, this item measures about 3" x 4". At the same time, Amazon refuses to recognize my rural address, which I've been using for more than 18 years. Were it not for the courtesy and cooperation of the University of Wisconsin accepting my mail, I'd have difficulty shopping at Amazom.
